Bridge
A transitional phase in your life leading you into something new. It is also a picture of connecting two aspects of your life with regards to circumstances and relationships.

CHARACTER SPECIFIC SYMBOL
POSITIVE
To dream of finding a bridge indicates a transition into something new. It comes with some risk though and just as you cannot keep walking on the old road when you cross a bridge in the natural, you also cannot take the old stuff with you as you move into this new phase that God is leading you into.
To coin a phrase, “With everything that God gives you, you will be required to give something up.” It is very similar to a “mountain climbing experience” where you cannot take all the baggage with you that you would like. It involves leaving something old behind and taking hold of something new.
In a positive context, this also means that you are making progress in your spiritual walk. If you have been asking God regarding your circumstances and you dream of crossing a bridge, this means that you are in a phase of transition now and to keep moving forward! You will soon enter your Promised Land.
NEGATIVE
To dream of falling off a bridge, a bridge being broken, or not being able to find one, is an indication that something is holding you back right now. There is something in your life that is preventing you from moving forward. You are “stuck” in your spiritual life and circumstances.
You are much like the children of Israel stranded on the wrong side of the river Jordan. The Lord is able to make a way where there is no way! Identify what is holding you back and put your faith in the Lord!
UNIVERSAL SYMBOL
POSITIVE
To dream of a bridge means that the Lord is opening the way to something new in your life. Just like He opened the Red Sea and stopped the river Jordan a bridge is a picture of being given passageway across something you could not have done on your own.
It means that the Lord will move His hand and make a way where there was none before.

"Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." - Isaiah 43:19

Whatever your struggle has been, seeing a new bridge means that God is about to make a new way for you. This way will be unexpected and it will not be something you could have done by yourself. You could not have made this with your own hands. It will be miraculous and what you need to do is stand in faith and trust God completely.
Connecting two aspects: I have often seen a bridge between two pieces of land or even between two warships. The Lord indicated that He would be adding a completely new aspect to my ministry. In the case of the two warships, He was telling me that I would be connected to another ministry and that we would work together.
If you see a bridge being built between two ministries or organizations, then the Lord is indicating a new relationship or “connection” with them.
Rope bridge: A bridge that looks shaky and insecure indicates a transition that will be difficult and will test your faith. There is no need to be afraid. The message is to press on forward regardless of what you see or feel right now – you will surely reach the other side!
Bridge falling away: If you cross a bridge in the spirit (or in a dream) and then you turn to see it fall away afterwards, the message if very clear. The Lord is “burning your bridges.” The circumstances, relationships, and strengths you had in the previous season will pass away and there will be no way for you to go back to it.
Jesus our bridge: The greatest example of a bridge in our lives is the Lord Jesus! He is the one that bridged the gap between God and man. To see a bridge while witnessing means that Jesus is the way! The Lord intends for you to introduce this person to Jesus and to give them a bridge to cross.
The Holy Spirit bridge: When you are baptized in the Holy Spirit, a bridge is created in the spirit. From the time of salvation, you have the Holy Spirit dwelling inside of you, however, when you get baptized into the spirit, you enter into a relationship with the Holy Spirit. From that time, you will operate in the gifts of the Spirit. If you are praying for a believer and see a bridge, either it refers to moving into a new season. If they have not been spirit-filled, then it means that the Holy Spirit wants to baptize them.
NEGATIVE
If a bridge is in front of you in the spirit, God means for you to walk over it! If you see yourself faltering or afraid to cross the bridge, it means that you do not have faith in the Lord. It means that you would rather lean on your own understanding than trust that He will get you through this circumstance.
To see a broken bridge in a vision is a clear picture of an attack. You will need to determine if that attack has come from the enemy or if you have “broken the bridge” yourself through unbelief or fear.
Cake
Provision for your desires and not only your needs.

A cake speaks of fun, enjoyment, and blessing. It speaks of receiving a gift and something that is enjoyable.

I remember once dreaming of walking into my home and my father had bought me a whole load of different cakes from a bakery. I can smell them now just thinking about it! It was a good dream and it spoke of the blessings and the gifts the Lord was giving me.
​
The different types of cakes, spoke of the different ways I would minister and the different blessings the Lord would give me. Not long after this dream the Lord moved me into the teaching ministry.
​
NEGATIVE
​
"To have your cake and eat it" is a negative saying that means you are trying to impose yourself and also be one better above your fellow brother or sister. This speaks of strife, contention, and vainglory.
​
Dreaming of a cake that is not fully baked speaks of being “half-baked” meaning that your commitment is lacking.
​
UNIVERSAL SYMBOL

Cake in a vision or external dream speaks of provision. In the case of this passage, by giving of her last cake, the widow woman had provision for the rest of the drought. Perhaps the Lord has led you to give the little “cake” or blessing you have away. If this be the case, rejoice, because it means that the Lord means to prosper you in return!

NEGATIVE
​
To see a cake that is burned or gone hard on one side, due to not being turned has a bad connotation. It speaks of being having the life taken out of you. It also speaks of compromise as in the passage in Hosea. It speaks of mixing yourself with those things that are not of the Lord and because of it, your blessing has now become a curse.

"Ephraim has mixed himself among the peoples; Ephraim is a cake unturned." - Hosea 7:8

It is not possible to live on cake! You need the basics of life to be healthy. Always easting sake in a sense of gluttony, speaks of seeking out only the blessings of the Lord, but not being willing to pay the price to walk out the weightier matters of your Christian life that require you to deny your flesh.
Candy
A treat or small blessing from the Lord. In a negative light it speaks of indulging the flesh.

Positive: A gift from the Lord – a token of His love for you
Negative: To follow after your feelings instead of what you know is right
POSITIVE
Candy or chocolate speaks of something that is a treat and a gift. Many believe that the Lord only provides our needs and not our desires. However how often have you given your own children candy just to delight them? The Lord is the same. If you dream or have a vision of the Lord giving you candy, then He is saying that he wants to delight you.
He does not only want to provide your needs, but your desires as well. If you want a good picture of candy in the Scriptures look up “honey” which was the equivalent in their day.
"So it shall be, from the abundance of milk they give, that he will eat curds; for curds and honey everyone will eat who is left in the land." - Isaiah 7:22

NEGATIVE
Eating candy can also speak of getting into the flesh. This passage describes it wonderfully:
"So I went to the angel and said to him, “Give me the little book.” And he said to me, “Take and eat it; and it will make your stomach bitter, but it will be as sweet as honey in your mouth.” - Revelation 10:9
It is just like when you try to fulfill the desires of the flesh outside of Christ. For that short moment the taste is sweet, but after you have indulged, the emptiness and bitterness fills your spirit.
If you dream or have a vision of eating something sweet, but feeling sick, then the Lord is showing you that the things you are indulging in are damaging your spiritual life. You are chasing your emotions and what you want, rather than what the Lord has told you to do. It is time, once again, to walk in obedience.
Car
A representation of your ministry.

POSITIVE
Cars are by far the most common vehicle seen in dreams. In an internal dream, you might dream of an old car you once owned, or even of a car you desire to own.
A car from the past could represent the circumstances surrounding that time of your life. It could also refer to the “old ministry functions” that you flowed in during that time of your life.
I remember a lady who shared once how she dreamed that she was trying to drive the car she had when she first got saved. The car was old and broken, but she was being pressured into driving it.
The interpretation was clear. She was being pressured to function in a ministry and spiritual capacity she had functioned in, in the past. But she had moved on since then and it was no longer appropriate. It was time for her to move on.
Dreaming of cars is common. You might dream that you receive a fast sports or racing car.
This means that the Lord is going to lead you into a different type of ministry that has a bigger realm of influence. It also indicates that this will be a fast move for you.
If you dream that someone else is driving your car, depending on the character driving your car, the interpretation could vary.
Your father or husband driving your car could mean that the Lord Jesus is in control of your ministry (depending on your relationship with your father or husband). This would have a good connotation.
Driving the car, yourself could be good. It speaks of being in control and going in the right direction.
NEGATIVE
Someone driving your car that represents the flesh, pride, or the world system would have a negative connotation. This would mean that something other than the Lord is in control of your ministry and spiritual life!
Different cars in your dream could represent different ministries.
Having your car stolen, taken over or stopped, speaks of your ministry being taken from you. This does not have a good connotation.
Now that you have a general idea, allow the Holy Spirit to define your dream or vision for you.
Cat
If the cat is a pet it speaks of responsibility. If negative, it speaks of a sneak attack from the enemy. If positive, it speaks of a surprise blessing that will involve you having a new responsibility.

POSITIVE

Just like in the symbol for pets, if you own the cat, it speaks of a responsibility. So a healthy cat would mean that you are taking good care of your responsibilities. Taking a cat that belongs to someone else means taking on cares that are not your own.
​
You need to identify what cats mean to you. If you love them, then dreaming of cats is positive. Identify what cats mean to you in real life and your dream will become clearer.
​
NEGATIVE
​
The cat was used as an idol in the early days of Egypt and in a negative light speaks of the subversive work of the enemy - the kind of attack that steals and sneaks in undetected. In a negative light it also speaks of the enemy “spying” on what you are doing.
​
A black cat is a clear picture of obvious demonic activity, while a white cat is a picture of something that looks innocent, but is not. (Note this refers to cats if you feel negative about them. If you love cats, then the interpretation will change in your dreams)
​
You do not need to be concerned if you have such a dream or a vision because you have the authority in the name of Jesus to tell the enemy to be gone.
Chain
Bondage through association, generational curses or hurts from the past.
​
Positive: The combined strength of a group of people
Negative: The repeated sin of an individual or generation

POSITIVE
​
Because a chain is so strong, it is a picture of united strength! This is especially applicable to a group and to marriage. A chain secures the anchor of a boat!
​
Although it is a picture of strength, its most outstanding characteristic is that it is combined strength that makes it secure. The strength of a single link is nothing. The combined strength of many links is what gives it the edge.
​
If you are praying for a group or a couple and you see a strong chain, then the Lord is indicating that combined, they are strong, but separately they are weak.
​
NEGATIVE
​
A broken link in a chain speaks of someone that has cracked under pressure or that has broken unity and tried to do things on their own.
To dream or see a vision of being bound by gold chains and this means that you are bound by things that you think are good, but are in fact keeping you in bondage.
​
Black chains represent clear demonic bondage. Chains are something we see often when praying with individuals who have a demonic bondage in their lives. Often we will even see a demon on the other end of the chain.
​
This can relate to a generational curse or a sin where the person opened the door to the enemy themselves, giving him control in their lives. See more in the symbol Demons for more understanding.

I have also seen a chain in the spirit when praying about templates and triggers. Each template being a link in the chain and continues to establish the sinful habit and the hurt in the person I am praying for. Please read Prophetic Boot Camp for more on templates and triggers.
Child
Your responsibilities both in life and in ministry.
a. A depiction of various stages of maturity.
b. A depiction of ministries and visions the Lord desires you to “birth.”

Children you know: If you have children, each will represent something different to you in each of your dreams. Identify what emotion each child pulls out of you and you will have your interpretation.
​
When I dream of my youngest daughter I know that the Lord was speaking about my apostolic calling, because I was pregnant with her when I was placed in apostolic office. My eldest has strong faith and represents my faith when I dream of her. My second daughter speaks of my love.
​
The same applies to any other familiar children you know. Identify what part of yourself your son or daughter could represent in your dreams.
​
Unfamiliar children/adoption: The apostles always referring to the New Testament believers as “little children.” So there are a number of interpretations for your dream.
​
They could represent the maturity level of the people God has called you to minister to or also your own level of maturity.
​
If you keep dreaming that you take care over other people's children then it means that you keep taking over responsibilities that are not yours.
​
If someone gives you a child, it means that you are taking over someone’s ministry or “brain child.” Depending on how you feel in the dream will indicate how you feel about this whole transition. Dreaming of adopting a child? You are taking on a ministry that you did not originate. Determine if this is a good or bad transition.
​
UNIVERSAL SYMBOL

POSITIVE
Spiritual parenting: I have often seen someone surrounded by children in the spirit and I know that the Lord is telling them that they will have many spiritual children.
Inner healing: Of course if you see a child in the spirit, the Lord could also be showing you that something happened to the person you are praying for when they were around that age that needs healing.
Your fruit: Children in Scripture refer to spiritual maturity, but are also a picture of our “fruit” and those things we have accomplished in this life. To see many children in a vision could very well speak of an expansion in your ministry. The Lord is calling you to be stretched to “fathering” more than just one vision!
It is worth nothing that when it comes to vision interpretation that you will need to determine if the vision you are seeing is symbolic or literal.
NEGATIVE
If your vision or prophetic dream feels negative, then the Lord is saying that you have lost sight of your vision! You have strayed from the original purpose that He has given to you. Your “child” has become corrupt and tainted with the flesh.
Consider the context of the vision. Does the negativity in the vision surround the youth of the child, or the physical state of the child? If the vision is centered around its age, your vision is referring to spiritual maturity. If the vision is centered around its condition, it is referring to the state of your ministry.

Crown
Receiving a crown speaks of being given a position of honor and favor. To have run the race faithfully and won.

Positive: To gain a position of honor
Negative: Loss of your authority and position
To take, but force, a position of honor that is not yours

If you see the Lord giving you a crown in the spirit, it speaks of being given honor and also authority. Often when we have appointed apostles to apostolic office we have seen the Lord given them a golden crown along with a scepter and a new robe.
Wreath or garland: To receive a laurel wreath or garland indicates that you have run a good race and have won it and received your prize. It means that the Lord is going to honor and reward you for being so faithful.
"Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him." - James 1:12

"And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown." - 1 Corinthians 9:25

In the spirit, I have also seen the crown of David which is a picture of the Davidic apostle.
NEGATIVE
To dream of losing your crown or having it stolen speaks of letting go of the authority that God has given to you.

"Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown." - Revelation 3:11

To be the one who steals the crown speaks of usurping someone else’s position and trying to steal their honor for yourself.
Crying
A cleansing process through the release of pent up emotions that have been suppressed or unrealized.

Positive: The external release of your true emotions within
Negative: To be controlled by your emotions beyond what God intends

Dreaming of crying is very common and often positive. Even if the dream is sad or makes you weep, the process of crying is a cleansing one and it is likely that you dreamed about actions that you would struggle to do in real life.
​
More often than not, crying in your dreams is a result of pent up emotion that you have faced over time. This is a purging dream and has no interpretation.
​
If you have been going through the Word or facing memories from the past, dreaming of those memories and then waking up crying is a good indication that God has done a healing in your heart. Although tears can often be a sign of hurts, they are also a way for us to come to terms with the inner struggles that we have.
​
Tears are words that cannot be spoken. If you struggle to express yourself with words, tears in your dreams are an external expression of your internal conflict. This alone can bring a release to the very thing you are struggling with.
​
NEGATIVE
​
If you dream of people dying or of things from the past that are not resolved, then your crying is a sign of a deeper wound that needs healing. I suggest going to your Pastor for counsel or asking a prophet to help you through the process of inner healing.
​
If you find yourself crying with no intention, then you are going through a “trigger”. Something is happening to you in your present circumstances that is a trigger to events of the past. Although you might not realize it that trigger is digging up unresolved hurts relating to past events.

UNIVERSAL SYMBOL

POSITIVE
​
I often see someone crying at a certain age when ministering inner healing. This tells me the time that the hurts of the past occurred that are having an effect on their present life. It is also common for someone to weep in the presence of the Lord.
​
This is a manifestation of the following passage:
​
"Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered." - Romans 8:26
When the Lord moves on you, you cannot always find the words. Tears are often the most beautiful response. A beautiful illustration of this is the woman who wept over Jesus’ feet. Sometimes it is our tears of joy and thanksgiving that are the best gift we can give the Lord. He does not need our fancy words, just our hearts.
​
Intercession and ministry: Weeping is very common in intercession when you will feel the heart of the Lord for His people. If you are interceding for someone you might also sense the exact conflict that they are going through. In personal experience I often feel the heart of the Lord weeping for His people.
​
I sense the intensity of the Lord Jesus interceding at the right hand of the Father for us. I remember attending a meeting once where the worship team was trying so very hard to get the Lord’s attention. They were singing hard and playing hard. They were crying out to God again and again to come.
​
I heard the soft voice of the Lord Jesus say to me, “They are trying so hard to reach me, but they do not know that I never left. I have been here all along.” In that moment I sensed the deep crying of his heart and I could only cry. He longed to hold each one so closely, but while they kept pushing and performing they were pushing Him away more than they were running towards him.
​
If you experience this kind of thing often, then it is likely you have a prophetic calling and the Lord is calling you to bring His Bride into a closer relationship with Him.
​
"And the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with singing, with everlasting joy on their heads. they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away." - Isaiah 35:10
​
NEGATIVE
​
When trying to address sin in someone I often come across someone who will cry uncontrollably and distract from the point I am trying to make. Crying like this is simply a smokescreen to distract you from the point you are trying to make.
​
On the other hand, if you are ministering inner healing and you start digging into hurts of the past, tears are a natural response. All the hurt that has been harbored for years will suddenly come to the fore front. Follow through with healing and ministry and the tears will turn to joy.
Uncontrollable crying: If you continue to cry without any control, then I would caution you to look into this. Even if there is hurt, the Lord is able to heal. To cry without reason or control indicates a demonic bondage that is in charge of your emotions. What might have started out natural, has become something that it should not.
This is especially true if the crying takes place at times when it should not – like when the Lord is trying to move and the crying becomes a distraction.
Death
A call to spiritual death that will lead to resurrection. Negatively it speaks of the work of the enemy and everything that he has stolen from you.

Positive: Letting go of the old man
Negative: Emotional attack to the point of wanting to give up

POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE

Dreaming of dead bodies and coffins often refers to things in your flesh that are being brought to death, spiritually. It is often your first reaction to panic when you dream of someone dying, but this need not be so at all!
​
There have been times when I have dreamed that dead bodies kept coming out a coffin! While that sounds like a gruesome dream, the interpretation was actually that there were issues I had died to in my life that I was allowing to resurrect again.
​
It is important to identify the person that is dying in your dream. Identify what part of your life they represent. If it is an unknown male figure, then it seems that your intellect is being brought to death. If an unknown female figure, then your creative side is being brought to death.
​
UNIVERSAL SYMBOL

POSITIVE
​
The Scriptures say that there will not be any more death! It also speaks of old things passing away so that the new can be born. It says in:
​
"And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." - Revelation 21:4
​
Death of a vision is also a very real experience if you have a ministry calling. This is where the Lord calls you to let your ministry vision die, so that he can give you a new one.

NEGATIVE
​
There was a time when I saw the angel of death when praying for someone. The message was very clear - her life was about to be taken. As we came against that spirit, she was restored to full health again.
​
Satan is the author of death and in the spirit, death is epitomized as darkness, black, and evil. David explains this oppression very clearly in:
​
"For the enemy has persecuted my soul; he has crushed my life to the ground; he has made me dwell in darkness, like those who have long been dead." - Psalms 143:3
​
In the spirit I have also seen a field of flowers die because of lack of water. This was a picture of the enemy stealing the fruit of our labor.
To dream of someone, that represents your love, dying, means that your love has died.
​
If you dream of your first love dying, this could mean that you have let go of your first love, Jesus Christ, and that you need to get back into a relationship with him.
​
Determine what is dying in your vision or prophetic dream – this will tell you whether you are meant to be letting it go, or whether it is time to invest a bit more effort into that area of your life.
